Russ Yallop
Few producers of recent years have exploded onto the underground house scene like Hot Creations’ Russ Yallop. While some producers spend years finding their feet, Russ made a clear statement of intent with ‘I Can’t Wait’ his debut release on Crosstown Rebels, a solid cut of nu-school house that was charted across the board by everyone from Jamie Jones to MANDY and was featured by Heidi on her ‘In New Music We Trust’ show on BBC Radio One. From that point on, Russ has continued his upward trajectory with stand out releases on the underground’s hottest imprints, including major tracks on Jamie Jones and Lee Foss’ Hot Creations and Art Department’s No.19.
Long-time friend and fully-fledged member of Crosstown Rebels, Russ Yallop has been biding his time and honing his production skills for the last few years. Part of a new breed of DJs, with studio skills to match, which includes his close friends Lee Foss, Richy Ahmed and Jamie Jones, Russ Yallop’s sound is infected with warm charm and boundless energy. Fusing fun into dance music again. Whether it be through his fourth residency at Ibiza’s premiere house event - Paradise at DC-10 - or the depth and quality of his production, Russ has continued to make waves throughout 2016. He’s also taken his DJ sets to a whole new level with appearances at some of the world’s most sought after events. Including Hot Creations tour dates at the Bristol’s renowned Motion, an Australian tour featuring a slot at premiere Sydney venue Chinese Laundry and a roadblock show at London’s runaway success story Regression Session.
Being such a versatile artist has allowed Russ to go beyond limiting himself to associations with any one particular brand. Catching the eye of Berlin based producer Santé, Russ has released an EP on the AVOTRE imprint, while also taking remix duties for Sidney Charles & Santé for Hot Creations. VIVa, Hot Since 82’s label Knee Deep In Sound and Material also have Yallop tracks in their repertoire, adding to his mass market appeal. Starting the year on a high, Russ released his first LP, as part of AVOTRE’s House Lessons series to huge critical acclaim - further cementing his reputation as a versatile artist to sit up and take note of.
